Falling Down is the opening single for the new Production I.G. anime series, Eden of the East. It's taken from Oasis' seventh studio album, called Dig Out Your Soul, which charted at #1 position in the band's home country and #2 in Japan. There are two tracks, besides the three different versions of Falling Down -- all of which are written and sung by the band's lead guitarist, Noel Gallagher, instead of his brother, lead vocals Liam.

The last I heard of Oasis was when I was in grade school. My older siblings who were in high school at the time were so into them that for weeks the band's songs were all I've been hearing. I guess that explains how I got into the whole Oasis fever back then and even had Champagne Supernova as my life theme. But then they sort of disappeared.

When this single came out, it was a complete surprise. I totally had no idea the band is still going on strong. Much less their song being tied-in with an anime series, of all things. While I wouldn't call Falling Down their strongest offering since the days of yore, I do love the mature, philosophical lyrics on this track. I am not liking Those Swollen Hand Blues very much though or the other versions of Falling Down for that matter.
