I've decided to post downloads and other stuff off my regular blogging schedule. Therefore, from now on, Mondays through Thursdays will be allotted for special posts and what-nots. This way, I can concentrate on blogging the shows I'm following on the days I'm supposed to be blogging them -- i.e. Friday - Saturday - Sunday. That ok? I hope so. In the meantime....
This is Uragiri no Yuuyake by THEATRE BROOK. This is the OP single for the anime Durarara!! and it is one awesome single. Uragiri no Yuuyake is perhaps the only opening theme since Falling by Oasis (Eden of the East) that I don't try to skip over every time I get my weekly dose of Durarara. That's gotta count for something.
THEATRE BROOK (official site in Japanese) is a little known band. Heck, they don't even have a Wikipedia page. But I did manage to find some info about them through their Last.fm page. Apparently, they got their big break when they once opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. That's not saying they sound anything like the latter. No, THEATRE BROOK seems completely in a world of their own, which isn't really a bad thing but does explain why they're not huge. Indie-funk is, after all, something that you have to get used to.
I like them though. And I love Uragiri no Yuuyake. If you haven't listened to it yet, I recommend you do.
p.s. That album cover is not really from Uragiri no Yuuyake. It's just a random picture that I snagged from the internet.
