COMMENTS:
I am partial towards zombies. I love zombie movies. I love the Dead series by George Romero and all the remakes. And I've played Resident Evil to distraction.
So just to get that out of the way, this manga is superb. Sure, the story might not be the most original out there, but it more than makes up for it with the sheer beauty of the art. It's wonderful in a way only zombie movies can be -- gory and utterly graphic and violent.
It does sway a little bit on the ecchi side, which is staple in most zombie-themed material anyway. That's not surprising at all. And I guess that's part of the lure. But the extent of research done into weapons, guns and vehicle information is kind of impressive. Superfluous maybe, but still impressive.
This manga does not offer much in the way of substance. The story is at that point where the reader knows that something big is definitely going to happen but the build-up is slow, focusing more on action and humor. There is very little character development going on, except for the developing dynamics between them. But you don't really care because it never lacks for action.CHECK OUT MORE RECOMMENDED PRODUCTS AT ANIMESHOON SHOP!!!
