Spring 2011 Anime Line-Up

We're only half-way through the Winter 2011 Anime season and already we've got previews for the coming attraction: SPRING 2011Anime ~
The line-up looks promising.

Ao no Exorcist - it's helmed by A-1 Pictures and based off a manga of the same name. It follows the adventures of a boy whose father is supposed to be a famous exorcist but turns out to be really Satan. To combat his fate, he enters a school for exorcists in order to learn all about fighting demons. Definitely shounen but this is one of the more popular titles this coming season so it's probably a good idea to keep an eye out for it.

Deadman Wonderland - another manga-turned-anime, this time by Manglobe. I've always been meaning to read the manga but somehow never got around to it. Now that the anime will be out, I think I'll watch a few episodes of this before I decide whether or not to read the paper version.

(C) The Money of Soul and Possibility of Control - this is the new series slated for the noitaminA timeslot and it's directed by Nakamura Kenji who came up with such wacky visual feasts as Mononoke and Kuuchuu Buranko. I've never seen either one but jute tells me that Mononoke was pretty bad-ass and also confuzzling. We'll see how this one turns out. It's definitely a huge plus that it's on noitaminA.

Sket Dance - Tatsunoko Productions, which...never heard of them, but this is supposed to be good and it's funny so yay for comedy!

Hana-Saku Iroha - this is by P.A. Works, a studio that sounds familiar but I can't for the life of me name off the top of my head any their works; suffice to say -- pretty teenagers in yukata working at a hot springs resort! something to ponder on

X-Men - the newest Madhouse / Marvel collab featuring not one, not two, but the entire X-Men! Woohoo ~ I hope the story line's better than the currently airing Wolverine though. Also, how on earth are they going to do Rogue's Southern accent? Or Gambit's Cajun speak for that matter? something to ponder on

Hyouge Mono - I don't know about this but the storyline sounds quirky enough for jute's tastes

Maria+Holic: Alive - there's a season 1?

Well, that's it for now. What about you? Which shows are you most looking forward to?
