Yakushiji Ryouko no Kaiki Jikenbo -- lit. "The Strange Case Files of Yakushiji Ryouko" or simply "Ryouko's Case Files" -- is a 2008 Summer anime by Dogakobo studio. The story revolves around Yakushiji Ryouko, a beautiful and brilliant investigator of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, and the often bizarre and supernatural cases that she solves. She is assisted by the able, Izumida Jun'ichiro, whom she however treats like a slave, and is involved in a long-standing rivalry with Muromachi Yukiko, an equally talented investigator.

While the anime is obviously crime/mystery, what makes it interesting is the very dynamic characters. It incorporates noir into the storyline so you can expect suits and stilleto high heels. That said, the music, of course, is jazz of the sultry, sexy, French club kind.
