Jormungand 3: The Spy Who Killed Me

What I like about this show is that a story arc rarely ever extends past two or three episodes. So that story about R being a mole for the CIA? Resolved in this episode. And all that hype about Hex being maybe probably Koko's most dangerous foe? She dead. Koko bombed the hell out of her hideout in Afghanistan. Or at least, it looked like Afghanistan.

So basically, the story's like this: Hex is a member of a group of elite female soldiers who were trained in special ops. But the group got disbanded because the brass didn't like the idea of female super soldiers and instead put everyone, except Hex who was a rebel, behind a desk. Hex went on to become a terrorist-hunter and surprise, surprise, she considers arms dealers like Koko Hekmatyar little more than terrorists in sheep's clothing. Bookman, being one of the few people to discover Hex's value, recruited her to work on his pet project, Operation Undershaft, where she becomes so instrumental that Bookman considers her his "left arm" while R is his "right arm."

These two "arms" of his have different ideologies. It will never enter Hex's mind, for example, to work with a terrorist with the aim to achieving a greater good. No, Hex can't see the big picture while R is all about the big picture. Not to mention, he believes Koko isn't completely hopeless, a belief which he shares with Bookman.

Needless to say, Hex and R were never going to get along. You know what they say about two unstoppable forces. When they meet, things are bound to get destroyed. As it turns out, when Hex and R finally met, they had to take out each other. Only Hex succeeded. But she's living on borrowed life as it was only a matter of time before Koko found her and gave her a gift she would never forget.

Koko was obviously devastated, either from losing R or from learning about his betrayal. Maybe both. But Valmet is out of the hospital and Jonah is okay. So for now, all's well that ends well.

FIRST LOOK: Jormungand: PERFECT ORDER, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun

Jormungand: PERFECT ORDER 1-2

So the second season premiers with Karen Low, formerly of the once powerful but now leaderless Daxinghai Company, suffering an all-time low, being essentially ronin. But considering her talents, it's not long before she gets picked up by, of all people, the crazily random Dr. Miami, Koko's robotics expert friend. Dr. Miami offers her a job as part of her entourage and though Karen's new gig isn't as exciting as her old one, she does get a chance to kick a few asses along the way. And then of course there is the added perk of running into Koko, whose possy includes archenemy, Valmet. Meanwhile, Koko has her hands full as usual, what with the launching of a rocket and a new menace in the form of dangerous CIA agent, Hex, looming in her horizon. She and Dr. Miami seem to be planning something but who knows what the plan is. On the other hand, it looks like R is a mole and is actually working for the CIA to bring down the Hekmatyar enterprise. Things are coming to a head.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun 1-3

Mizutani Shizuku has no interest besides studying. One day, she gets asked by her teacher to bring some hand-outs to the class delinquent, Yoshida Haru, who hasn't come to school after being suspended for fighting in school grounds. Haru has a violent, misanthropic reputation but is it possible he's just misunderstood? Not exactly. He's violent and all that but he's also weirdly adorable and he thinks he's made his first friend in Shizuku, who, of course, couldn't care less about him. That is, until he kisses her out of the blue and suddenly, the very focused but usually clueless Shizuku finds a whole new problem in her hands.

This show is funny as hell and it is also honest-to-goodness cute. LOVE IT! The last time I liked a romance story like this was Kare Kano. That was a very long time ago. :) Anyway, I have very high hopes for this series.

2012 Anime Fall Season

This is a bit late but eh, who cares. Thanks to CR for the charts.

Litchi DE Hikari Club
It sounds pretty dark and mangly and psychological wtf and I know just the person who likes this sort of shit. Maybe, maybe not. The promo art is pretty unique and, therefore, attractive though.

BTOOM!
It's by Madhouse so I guess I'll check it out. Seems like the spiritual successor to Summer Wars, except the main character isn't just playing a character in a game but is actually in the game. Might be interesting. Also, did I mention it's by Madhouse?

Zetsuen no Tempest
I'm not really sold on the plot but it might turn out to be good. Especially considering the fact that this is by BONES. If anything, the visuals should be worth it.

Sukitte Ii na Yo
My obligatory romance series for the season. I've heard about this manga. Seems pretty popular but meh. I'll just check it out for a while and may be drop it if the other series get their groove on.

Shin Sekai Yori
It's one of those horror fantasy series and the first thing that come to mind is Another. But the series' plot couldn't be further from that show. The preview doesn't do anything for me but I could be wrong.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun
Brains Base. The plot intrigues me more than Sukite but I guess I'll watch the first episode of both shows at least before making any sort of comparison. I just have this feeling that I'm going to like this one better than the other.

Jormungand: PERFECT ORDER
I actually enjoyed the first season. I love Koko and her harem of tough, hard-as-nails ex-soldiers! And I love her crazy adventures, so yes, I'm going to watch this series. Hell, this might just be the only series I'll watch fo' sho' this season.

Psycho-Pass
Production I.G. + noitaminA = gold. That's all.

Asura
Promo poster looks hot.

Arata Naru Sekai
Don't know what it's about. Don't even know if I can find it on Tokyo Tosho but adding this here anyway for in case I stumble upon a torrent of it one day.

Biohazard: Damnation
Already seen it. All I can say is, Leon is hot and Ada is hot and that Russian dude is hot, and the president is totally a MILF. Also, zombies.

009 Re:Cyborg
Gives me Casshern Sins feels.

Well, that's it, you guys. I hope I get to finish at least three series from this not-so short list of mine this season. Because summer season, I was just crap.

[Manga] Kimi ni Todoke 42

Eek! So it's finally happened. Kent x Ayane!

Before this, I was a fan of Ayane x Pin because I don't know, so much subtext in the anime, but this is good, too.

Wow, the progression of their relationship is better than Ryu x Chizu because those two, I'll never understand. It's clear Chizu is having feelings for Ryu but it's all mixed up with her BFF feelings for the guy, too, so girl's confused.

But Kent x Ayane, they don't have that history so it's much more clear-cut for them. I just hope Ayane returns Kent's feelings soon because in this chapter, it's only really Kent who's confessed his feelings and Ayane's just "Okay." :P

[Manga] Claymore 128, Blade of the Immortal c187-193

Claymore 128

It's still not exciting but at least the group has finally arrived in Rabona to see the mess that the Holy City is in. Good thing, they had the foresight to evacuate the city so that all that's left there now are the Claymores Clarice and Miata, ex-Claymore Galatea and some of Raki's former comrades in the Rabona ranks of warriors. Thank god we didn't have to spend another chapter on board the ship that was supposed to take the entire lot of them there, because I can't take another filler episode.

Miria wastes no time getting acquainted with the situation and we learn that many Awakened Beings are gathering outside Rabona, drawn there by the strange power that's coming from the fused bodies of LucielaxRaphaela, Clare and Priscilla. Galatea also makes an appearance and she shows Miria's group an alarming sight: it looks like Priscilla is fighting to separate herself from the others and is almost succeeding in that venture. Of course, this means that Cassandra is making double time to reunite with the source of her current powers.

I bet the next chapter is going to be plenty exciting. Cassandra will arrive and what would our erstwhile warriors do? I'm guessing they can't really stop her and Cassandra will succeed in freeing Priscilla, causing the two of them to fuse together to become one powerful mama. And then, I'm guessing we'll get a glimpse of how Clare is doing, which, she's probably inside that ball at the moment, having hot sex a serious conversation with the ghost of Teresa. Teresa, my bb!!!!!

Blade of the Immortal c187-193

In these chapters, a lot has happened but basically the main things are that Makie is a BAMF. Honestly, I love her. Samora man, please don't kill her. She is my bestest favoritest character in the whole of BOTI. If you kill her, I honestly can't take it and will probably be unable to read another chapter of your wonderful, glorious manga. Also, you have sick hands. I mean, the art in Makie's fight scenes brought to my eyes.

Rin is probably in love with Manji, judging from what Hyakurin says about her face when she watches Manji give Makie the TB medicine under the guise of a kiss and the way she leaps into danger in a wild attempt to somehow save him.

Also Kagehisa finally arrives, with a fleet of arrow-pumping merchant vessels. He is here partly to come after Makie (and their reunion is understated but really touching) and mostly to end things once and for all with Habaki.

We get to see the preliminary fight scenes with Manji and Rin (wut?!) facing off the fearsome, armor-wearing Arashino, Kagehisa facing off Habaki and Makie against Doma and Tareishin. Meanwhile, a new ship is born with Magatsu and Ryo, Habaki's daughter. Er, no, but Magatsu does save her and carry her on horseback after finding her injured in the snow.

Next chapter.... I CAN'T!
